My Current Hair Care Routine

Alberto Giannini Moisture Replenishing Hair Mask (Bought in Boots, no longer available online)

I think I have finally (well, for the forseeable future) found the perfect hair care routine for me. A few new purchases mixed in with some old favourites, and my hair is feeling healthier than ever. I start to shampoo with the Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo. Now aside from the horrific name (anyone who knows me will know that moist is my all time worst word - so disgusting) I absolutely love this product. When massaged into the hair it lathers up nicely, and really feels like a good clean.

Next up is conditioner. I have started to use the James Brown London High Gloss conditioner as my conditioner of choice. It glides through the hair so easily and after a couple of minutes your hair feels instantly sleeker. I wash my hair every other day, and once or twice a week I will use both the High Gloss conditioner and the Moisture Replenishing Hair Mask from Umberto Giannini to really give my hair a good pick me up. I will use the High Gloss through the top half of my hair, and the mask through the lengths and ends of my hair. The hair mask smells delicious, like Turkish Delight which is one of my all time faves.

Once I'm out of the shower, this is where the real killer products come into play. I first towel dry my hair (I try to pat, not rub) and then run a "brazil nut" size blob of the Lee Stafford Breaking Hair Leave In Treatment through the lengths of my hair. And for the very ends, I use the Ojon Damage Reverse. When I first bought the Damage Reverse, I didn't quite get on with it. I felt it made my hair a little too greasy, may have been a little over enthusiastic with using the pipette, but now using the teeniest amount, one or two drops warmed between hands, I absolutely love it.

For styling, I'm currently trying out the Umberto Giannini Backcomb in a Bottle. I love the look it gives when first used, a full looking, 'just out of bed' look. Not too sure on the longevity of the product as it needs to be topped up quite quickly. I may go back to using the old faithful Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray as I love the look this gives.

For reference, my hair can get quite oily, I wash it every second day. It is also coloured, both the blonde and brown, and I very rarely use heat on my hair, except to make the front look a little more polished.

Do any of you use any of the products mentioned? Or have any holy grail products to recommend? Let me know in the comments!

Nails of The Day: Rimmel Salon Pro in Peppermint

On Tuesday, I had one of those days when you go into Boots for the simplest thing - mine cotton buds - and end up spending much more time and money than you planned, and forgetting what you actually went in for. After perusing the make-up counters I decided I wanted to get a new mint green polish to add to my collection, when this Rimmel one caught my eye.

The formula is lovely, as is the brush. I'm not a fan of the small skinny brushes as I don't think you can get the same smooth coverage (in my shaky handed opinion anyway!) I used 3 coats, but you could get away with using 2.

This is most definitely going to be a holiday shade for me (I go to Mexico in 2 weeks, YAY!) and will be popped in my suitcase ready for action.

Have any of you tried any of the Rimmel Salon Pro polishes? Or have any other mint picks to try? Let me know in the comments!

Review: Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum

After previously getting a sample of the Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum in a glossy box (way back in last April), I really loved it's silky smooth-ness and the way it left my face feeling so hydrated. Until around about Christmas, I felt that my skincare routine was missing something, and had always had this beaut of a product in the back of my mind, I just needed to take the plunge and buy it!

All I use is one pump, after toner and before moisturiser, rub between my fingers and then work over my face. It glides onto the skin, is very hydrating and leaves your skin feeling plump (even the morning after).

I think it's pretty safe to say that I love this product. I'm now on my second bottle, after my first one lasted around 4 months, and I don't plan on kicking this one out of the beauty regime any time soon.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum is priced at £29 (£26.10 on Feel Unique with free shipping!) and available from John Lewis, Space NK, Feel Unique and other Caudalie stockists.

Have any of you tried the Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum? Or have you got your own holy grail serum? Let me know in the comments below!

Hello all!

I'm back at home this weekend for some catch up time with the family, didn't have long after work yesterday before I had to catch my train, and in the hurry I forgot my camera, so do excuse the webcam shots! (So annoyed!)

Tonight is my step-nan's 80th and we're off for a carvery with the whole family, will hopefully be a nice and chilled evening.

Top Spring Nail Picks

Well, Spring seems to finally have sprung (touch wood - I'm not jinxing it!) and although I'm not quite brave enough to throw on my shorts just yet, I'm definitely embracing the spring colours on my talons. Bring on my Spring nails picks!

First up is a Barry M Gelly Hi Shine polish in Blueberry. I like the formula of the Gelly polishes, two coats and it's opaque with a hi shine finish. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Added bonus - I can get away with wearing this one at work as it matches my work shirt! I also have the Gelly polish in Grapefruit which is lovely, a real barbie pink (not pictured).

Onto probably my fave of the bunch - Essie Watermelon. Dark pinky red in colour, an absolute dream to apply, pretty much opaque with no streaks in 1 coat and fast drying time. I can't fault the application of Essie polishes. A real pick-me-up colour!

Not only does this next polish look great, it's scented too! Revlon Strawberry Cream (I'm seeing a fruity pattern starting to form here?) is a true coral. The scent fades quite quickly after application, I use 2/3 coats, but it beats the normal headache inducing fumes. I've been using my Revlon Matte Finish top coat with it to give it a bit of a twist.

Last but certainly not least is another Barry M polish - you really can't go wrong with Baz can you! One of the latest offerings from the brand is their Textured Nail Effects, which I have been loving. My favourite at the moment is Ridley Road, a mint green, which dries quite matte, with a similar look as sandpaper, but less rough! The only downside to this polish is that I found it likes to attract smudges of make-up and gets dirty quite quickly.

Have any of these polishes tickled your pickle? Do you have any other Spring picks I should try out? Let me know in the comments!

The Make Up Bag: Downsizing

Above is what is currently in my 'everyday' make-up bag. Why I have so much, god only knows. I pretty much use the same products every day, and always have to root around for them. Time to downsize.

So which products made the cut?

I didn't realise I have so may MAC products in my daily routine. To start I always use Benefit The Porefessional primer, followed by my foundation (not pictured). I tend to mix it up and flip between using Estee Lauder Double Wear and MAC Studio Sculpt.

Next I conceal spots and under the eyes with MAC Studio Finish Concealer and Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer. Then onto powder. I dust a small amount, mainly over my t-zone, of MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Light Plus and contour with Medium Deep.

Time to get cheeky. For blush I use Maybelline Dream Touch Blush in Apricot and dust a little MAC Peaches over the top to set the cream blush and make the colour last longer. My favourite cheek highlight of the minute is Nars Albatross.

For eyes, I use MAC All That Glitters, without fail. Maybe a little darker colour in the crease if I want to push the boat out. A cat flick eye is a must, and I use MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack. Give my lashes a bit of oompf with Shu Uemura eye lash curlers and a flick of L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic.

For eyebrows, I've just started to use Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in 001 Dark Brown. Give them a little comb through with the brush on the end, and set with GOSH Defining Brow Gel.

Lips, for day time I usually just reach for Sleek Pout Polish in Peach Perfection, or MAC Shy Girl.

And that's my daily make-up, downsized.

What are your products you can't live without?
